HOM was founded in 1998 after Dr. Dominique Matthews and her husband Roger visited her native land on their honeymoon, and decided that they wanted to do something to help alleviate suffering in Haiti.

Since then, the organization has grown to include eight Catholic and Episcopal churches in Southeast Michigan and Montana who are officially members of HOM through their annual contribution of $3,500 in “seed money” to sustain HOM operations.  We are an ecumenical lay mission group. With seed money and other substantial contributions, HOM revenue in the most recent fiscal year was $197,000.
